今天食品翻译小编和大家一起来聊一聊：奶茶。“奶茶”的英文，不是milk tea。


第一种说法：
英国人喜欢用tea with milk来表达“奶茶”。
 
第二种说法：
bubble tea
bubble表示“气泡”，而奶茶就是茶奶混合在一起，用搅拌机打在一起的时候就会产生泡泡了。
 
第三种说法：
boba tea
another term for bubble tea.  boba的音译就是“波霸”，而这个boba其实就是奶茶中的大颗珍珠（chewy balls）。
chewy: needing to be chewed a lot before it can be swallowed需要多嚼的；不易嚼烂的；耐嚼的；这里的balls不是表示“球”，而是指圆状物，也就是我们所说的“珍珠”；chewy是chew的形容词，chew表示“咀嚼，嚼碎”的意思。
 
举几个例子：
1 I'd like to order a cup of taro bubble tea with nata jelly, easy on ice please.
我想要一杯芋奶奶茶加椰果，请少加冰。
 
2 Could I have a caramel bubble tea with red beans, half sugar, please? Thanks a lot.
请给我一杯红豆半糖焦糖奶茶吧?非常感谢。
